APARTMENT CRAWL

Do you live in, or close to, the ghetto? Do you love to party? Can we use your house for the Geography Apartment Crawl? It's your time to shine. Shoot mcgillgeography@gmail.com an email if you are interested in including your house (November 4th). People who host get to do the crawl for free, and MUGS will spotlessly clean your apartment the day after. 
 

BEHIND THE RODDICK GATES

The Redpath Museum research journal, Behind the Roddick Gates, is currently looking for submissions for the 2017/2018 academic year! Undergraduate students are welcome to submit work – including essays, articles, and research papers – pertaining to the Redpath Museum, McGill, and Montréal. Papers on history, environment, geography, anthropology, and similar topics are highly encouraged. For full submission guidelines, as well as topic samples and background information on the journal itself, please visit their website. The tentative deadline for submissions is November 2017. They are also currently looking for artists and copy editors. 
 

THE MCGILL LEFT REVIEW

The McGill Left Review's academic journal is also currently accepting submissions! They accept academic papers written for any class, provided they received a mark of A- or above. The McGill Left Review is an interdisciplinary journal that is open to submissions from any faculty or program, as long as it pertains to progressive, left-wing politics. Submissions can pertain to: Leftism, Progressivism, Feminism, Environmentalism, Socialism, Anarchism, Labour rights, Race relations, Economic reform, LGBTQIA2+ rights, Critical theory, and more. Submissions should be emailed to mcgill.leftreview@gmail.com with "Journal Submission" in the subject line. The deadline for submissions is December 20, 2017 at 11:59 PM. 

Bob Ross Paint Night 

Bob Ross once said, "the secret to doing anything is believing that you can do it". Come test that theory and paint with us on Wednesday the 25th! FREE painting equipment, hot chocolate, and snacks will be provided. Just RSVP here. Halloween costumes are optional but encouraged.

GIC WORKSHOPS

There will be 9 more workshops in the GIC- on topics ranging from ArcGIS, QGIS, R, Endnote to finding data. All workshops start at 2:30 on Fridays and are free for Geography students, but you have to register beforehand here.
