Plans are underway to build the world's first domed city. In Dubai, a 48 million square foot 'Mall of the World' is slated to contain buildings and its own transit system. Finally, perhaps, the science fiction dreamers of the mid 20th century may see their visions come to light.
Buckminister Fuller's 1960 plan to put his geodesic dome over Midtown Manhattan.
Dubai Holding's 2020 plan for Dubai's Mall of the World.
Mall of The World

That's all, folks.
