Happy November my fellow Geographers! Take a break from midterms and papers and check this out..

i) Only two more days to get your tickets for our annual APARTMENT CRAWL!!!!! Thursday
and Friday we'll be selling them in the lounge from 11am until 2pm! Tickets are $10
for Geography students, $15 for non Geographers, and $2 extra if you want a bus ticket
included. This promises to be a night to remember (or perhaps not) so whether you're
new to the faculty or an old pro, come join us Friday night starting at 6pm in the
lounge! Remember to bring your own mug and your awesome selves ready for fun!

ii) GIS day is fast approaching! Join us Wednesday November 17th in celebrating this day
with guest speakers and an afternoon of Geocashing. Burnside 308 will be our home base
for the day, and between 1 and 2:30 join us for three great presentations on some of
the current GIS-related research going on at McGill! After the presentations stick
around for geocashing- a dash around the city with GPS coordinates to find clues and
be the first to finish!

iii) Our clothing swap has gotten off to a great start thanks to some awesome donations!
Drop by the MUGS lounge with unwanted clothing or winterware, and either swap them
for something there, or leave them for donation to our local youth charity. Be more
sustainable and help out a great cause!

iv) MSURJ, the McGill Science Undergraduate Research Journal is a yearly journal that
publishes undergraduate work from a huge variety of disciplines. Geographers- let's
get our knowledge and ideas out there! If you have a paper or research project you'd
like to share, submissions for the next edition are due January 2nd. Check out their
website, even just to take a look at what your peers are up to- it's great stuff!

Keep your eyes and ears open for geography clothing sales coming before the holidays, and
upcoming events like Career day (what the heck to do with a geography degree!).
