  2. Gert's this Friday!
  3. TNC Presents PARTifact
  4. Research and International Relations Discussion and Free Lunch!

Hey there Geographers! Hope you're all having a good day. I know there's a lot of midterms this week, but MUGS is going to Gert's this Friday and we hope to see you all there! We will be buying a few pitchers to start off the night, more info in the listserv. It's also a great time to think about how lucky we are to have a Reading Week different from every other university! We can all laugh in their faces when they're back at school and our break is at a warmer time of year. Right? Right.

Geography Photo Contest

We are still accepting photos for the Geography Photo Contest and the deadline has been extended to March 10th, so you can submit if you go to any exotic locales over reading week! Or if you stay right here in Montreal. The theme is "Home", after all. Submit to mcgillgeography@gmail.com

Gert's this Friday!

Come to Gert's with some awesome geographers from 4-7 this Friday at Gert's! We booked a table and we'll buy a few pitchers to start off the night.

Research and International Relations Discussion and Free Lunch!

On Friday, February 22, 2013, from 12:30 - 2:00 p.m in Trottier 1100, Research and International Relations invites students to a free brown bag lunch and informal discussion with Prof. Geoffrey Hinton of the University of Toronto, the 2012 recipient of the highly prestigious Killam Prize in Engineering. One of Canada's foremost experts on artificial intelligence, Prof. Hinton will share insights into what it's like to work in this cutting-edge field and answer your questions about the future of computer perception.

The talk is free and lunch will be provided. Space is limited and registration is required. RSVP:www.mcgill.ca/research/hinton-lunch

Cool Thing of the Week

Since it's so frosty over here in Montreal, I thought you might like to see some fantastic ice formations!
