SKI TRIP February 17th
The Science Internal Committee has partnered with SSMU Ski and Snowboard Club to rally a squad of scoundrels to bus up to Bromont for Nuit Blanche on February 17th!! This excursion from the metropolis of Montreal will be a great way to take a break from midterm craziness and an opportunity to squeeze in some night skiing and fundies with friends while cheering on Team Canada! THIS IS A NIGHT SKI TRIP, so Buses will be leaving at 6pm and returning at 2am! Tickets are 50$ for SUS students. This includes transportation, a lift-ticket, apres ski, and BEERverges! Tickets will be sold at Kill the Keg (every Tuesday night at Gerts) and in person through the SIC committee members.

Field Notes, The McGill Undergraduate Journal of Geography is currently accepting submissions for publication in 2018. Field Notes is a student-run, peer-reviewed academic journal based at McGill University's Department of Geography. As an interdisciplinary publication, we encourage submissions from artists, researchers, academics, practitioners and students in a range of fields. We aim to provide a forum for critical analysis of the economic, societal, and environmental issues surrounding geography. We are looking for A or A- papers on a range of geographical subjects. Send us your best work! Please submit work to journal.fieldnotes@gmail.com by February 7th.

The Canadian Space Agency (CSA) is responsible for advancing the knowledge of space through science and using its discoveries for the good of Canadians. As such, the CSA has data and information that could potentially be made public. Completing this questionnaire will help CSA prioritise space data and information that better meets potential users needs. 3 GEOGRAPHY INTERNSHIPS Apply by February 21st
Natural Resources Canada's Centre for Mapping and Earth Observation is seeking interns with geography and geomatics skills for the summer 2018. The work term period is May to August 2018.
Internship 1: Creation of cartographic products derived from high resolution elevation data (Sherbrooke (Quebec) or Ottawa)
Internship 2: Data inventory and needs assessment related to building mapping in Northern Canada's communities (Sherbrooke (Quebec))
Internship 3: Analyze data inventories from multiple federal government departments to identify datasets mostly related to Canada's Indigenous People. Assess datasets for accessibility, availability of web services, and quality, create Web mapping services to enable the visualization of identified datasets. (Sherbrooke (Quebec)).
Interested Students must register by February 21, 2018 to the Federal Student Work Experience Program (FSWEP) – Ongoing Student Recruitment Inventory. Their internships are for individuals studying geomatics or geography at university.
