4. Sustainability Applied Student Research GrantCalling McGill students from all disciplines! Did you know you can get funding to conduct your own research on sustainability at McGill? It's called Sustainability Applied Student Research—an opportunity for students to address the needs of the McGill community for academic credit in a hands-on way; bridging the gap between theories taught in the classroom and their practical application. For this round of funding, we're looking for research projects that would explore waste management at McGill. Learn more about the ASR process and apply by December 2nd! (AKA this friday) |

5. Maptime MTL: Humanitarian Mapathon!!So if you didn't know, Maptime is an initiative for mapping enthusiasts wide and far, and we in Montreal are fortunate to have our very own Maptime MTL run by some of Burnside's finest cartographers. These often follow a theme, and this meeting's one is with the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT... appropriate acronym for such a hot topic). Click the image for more info!
This event is taking place Dec. 1st at 700 rue Lusignan Apt. 3 from 6pm-8pm.
RSVP at maptimemtl@gmail.com or @MaptimeMTL on twitter! |

7. Mildly Interesting Map of the WeekThe map for this week is a map where all the text are song references! Click on it to see one of the slickest online zooms i've seen as well as procrastinate on a little and feel relieved Canada didn't get filled with Nickel-back and Bieber references. |

8. Cool Thing of the WeekThis cool thing of the week doesn't date back to this week, though is pretty rad. marvel at this gorgeous impossible looking lake in the Faroe islands. Yes this lake is balanced on a cliff. No I don't know how it works... Any Geomorphologists care to answer my oh so many questions?? |

That's a wrap,With another week of classes/examinable material ahead of us, I end with an inspirational quote from ya boy Bobby Ross himself. Have a great week y'all.
"The secret to doing anything is believing that you can do it. Anything that you believe you can do strong enough, you can do. Anything. As long as you believe." - Bob Ross. circa when the fro was still hip.
