The TRansportation and Air Quality (TRAQ) and the Transportation Research at McGill (TRAM) research groups will be performing a bus transit emissions study and we are looking for students eager to perform on-board data collection. We need a total of 8 -10 students for the duration of the data collection campaign.
STUDY DETAILS:
We are studying bus service in Montreal, particularly, the service on Route 67 and 467 running along the Saint-Michel bus corridor. The purpose of this study is to quantify the bus's emissions while capturing various factors including passenger activity, bus crowding, fare collection method, and time of day. Students will be required to sit down on a bus equipped with a GPS device and a standard data collection sheet in order to count passengers boarding and leaving the bus as well as record bus dwell times.
REQUIREMENTS:
In order to qualify for this study, you should be available for 3 consecutive hours (7-10AM or 3-6PM) on at least 4 days (not necessarily consecutive) over the following two weeks: October 15th to 18th and October 21st to 25th. A training session will be held this Friday October 11th in the evening.
Your remuneration will be: $11.18/hour + 19.2% benefits.
If you are available and interested, please contact Ahsan (<mailto:ahsan.alam2@mail.mcgill.ca>ahsan.alam2@mail.mcgill.ca) or Ehab (<mailto:ehab.diab@mail.mcgill.ca>ehab.diab@mail.mcgill.ca) and provide your availability (times and days).
