Hey Geographers! Spring is here and bringing so many good things. Sunshine. Light jackets. MUGS Assassins. Birds chirping. The End of Year Party. I'm happy about it! I hope you are too. 
 EVENTS 

 PHYSICAL GEOGRAPHY FIELD SCHOOLS INFORMATION SESSIONS 
WHEN: March 27th + 29th from 4:00-5:00 PM 
WHERE: Room 308 Burnside Hall
Come learn more about the physical geography field school opportunities this summer. The two courses offered are GEOG495: Field Studies in Physical Geography Gault Nature Reserve and GEOG499: Sub-Arctic Field Studies Schefferville.

 WOMEN AND RESEARCH: 
 SHARED EXPERIENCES IN ACADEMIA AND INDUSTRY 

WHEN: March 29th from 6-9 pm
WHERE: Arts Building Room 260
The Research and Sustainability Network is honored and excited to announce "Women and Research: Shared Experiences in Academia and Industry". This event will consist of a dynamic panel discussion and a rewarding networking session. If you are interested in learning from female McGill professors about their experiences in academia and how they are paving the way for academia and industry, this event is not one to be missed! RSN looks forward to your attendance, and will provide further speaker and event details in the weeks to come. Here is the FB event.

 

 MSURJ 13th ANNUAL LAUNCH PARTY 
WHEN: April 4th from 4:30-6:00PM
WHERE: the Bellini Atrium
The McGill Science Undergraduate Research Journal will be launching this year's issue of peer-reviewed publications. Come celebrate the research accomplishments of undergraduate students, read through their latest publication, and casually chat with young researchers and members of their editorial board. There will be complimentary refreshments and food! For any questions regarding the event, please contact the editorial board at  msurj.sus@mail.mcgill.ca. Business casual attire is recommended.


 GEORGE HARRIS: ARCHITECT AND MENTAL HEALTH ADVOCATE 
WHEN: Thursday April 5 from 6-9pm
WHERE: Santropol Roulant (111 Roy Est) 
Join McGill Students for Santropol Roulant for an art expo launch party celebrating the work and achievements of George Harris. Harris is a Meals-on-Wheels client at Santropol Roulant who has had a rewarding career in architecture. After being diagnosed with schizophrenia, Harris became unable to work. Despite this, he maintained his passion for architecture through his "imaginary projects." Project Imagination provides a creative platform for Harris to showcase his talent for architecture while highlighting his story on mental illness. Your attendance at Project Imagination supports Santropol's initiative to destigmatize mental health through art, self-expression, and community. Here is the event link.

 UNDER THE GI-SEA END OF YEAR PARTY

Ahoy there! Tis the sea-son for the MUGS end of year party. Sail on over to celebrate the end of classes- it will be an ocean of fun and have you feeling fin-tastic. Nautical-themed drinks will be served, but there's no pier pressure to drink! If you're angling for a ticket, we will be tabling soon- details are yet to come.
