SUSTAINABILITY OFFICER
The Sustainability Officer(s) is be responsible for holding MUGS environmentally responsible during all events, finding the most environmentally friendly and cost-effective alternatives, as well as promoting and encouraging MUGS members to engage in these practices. THE LIVING SOILS SYMPOSIUM (FREE ENTRANCE + TSHIRT)
The symposium is a bilingual, multi-disciplinary event at Concordia with a focus on soil's positive impact on environmental and social issues like climate change, food security, water scarcity, declining biodiversity, and public health and safety. The event organizers are looking for volunteers to help with set up, registration, directing participants to locations, live-tweeting during presentations, and clean up. If interested, please fill out this link

SLATE EDITOR IN CHIEF
Slate, McGill's Journal of Moving Images, is seeking an editor-in-chief for the 2017/2018 academic year. Responsibilities include the selection the 2017/2018 editorial team, managing that team over the course of the academic year, and overall ensuring the timely production of this year's issue of Slate, including applying for funding, organizing the layout of the journal, communicating with the printing company and planning the journal launch. Though this journal is formally affiliated to the McGill English department, students of other departments are eligible to apply. If interested, please send an academic writing sample (preferably relating to film, though not necessarily) and a statement of interest that includes your year, department of study, and any prior experience with publishing and cinema studies to slatemoviejournal@gmail.com by Friday, September 29th.

ARTS INTERNSHIP OFFICE EVENT
September 27th at 4:30pm.
At this event Arts students will be able to find out about exciting internship opportunities available to them. Hear from past interns, find out how to apply, and learn about the existing funding resources. Here is the Facebook event.

MOVIE UNDER THE STARS 
September 27th at 7:00pm
Join the Sustainability Projects Fund (SPF) for a movie night under the stars on Lower Field! Grab a blanket and come learn about the people worldwide who are building a sustainable future in the documentary film "Demain" (2015).

SPF SUSTAINABILITY FRIDAY
September 29th at 4:00pm
Making the world a more sustainable place is a big job that is better accomplished with friends. That's why SPF is inviting students, faculty and staff to kick-off the academic year on their first Sustainability Friday- an informal networking event designed to build community and spark great ideas. THE LIVING SOILS SYMPOSIUM 
October 13th-15th
The symposium is a 3-day bilingual event taking place at Concordia University. The focus is on how improving soil health promotes things like food and water security, climate change mitigation and the health of our communities. You can Facebook RSVP here.

WOMEN IN HOUSE (LADIES ONLY :) )
Women in House is a student-run program that promotes the representation of women in Canadian politics and gives female students a chance to experience life on Parliament Hill. The program consists of a fully-subsidized, two-day trip to Ottawa, during which participants attend Question Period, hear individual speakers and panel discussions, and shadow a female Member of Parliament or Senator. 
Applications will be accepted between October 1st and October 15th at 5pm.
