Hey people! 

Here are a few last minute listserv items that need to be sent out before everyone goes off into exam mode!
There are STILL POSITIONS AVAILABLE ON MUGS!! If people would like to apply for the positions of AUS or  SUS rep, please submit to mcgillgeography@gmail.com a 1 page blurb on why they'd like the position, what skill etc they'd bring to MUGS and any relevent experience. For Field Notes Editor-in-Chief, they need to submit a 1-page blurb of the same criteria, as well as a CV. Please send in applications by Tuesday April 15th at 11:59PM!

AUS Representative
Represents MUGS to the Arts Undergraduate Society meetings, and relays information back to the council. Heads up interdepartmental communication and coordination efforts with other Arts departments.

SUS Representative
Represents MUGS to the Science Undergraduate Society meetings, and relays information back to the council. Heads up interdepartmental communication and coordination efforts with other Science departments.

Editor-in-Chief
Oversees all functions of the production of Field Notes. This will include assembling an editorial team within the first three weeks of September; scheduling production to ensure the release of the printed publication will occur before April 1st; maintaining the journal’s budget and fundraising appropriately; actively soliciting research submissions from the undergraduate student body; coordinating events related to the fundraising and launch of the journal; coordinating the peer-review process with undergraduate and graduate editors; and liaising with faculty and staff within the Department of Geography and other organizations as required, in addition to the general duties and responsibilities of a MUGS officer.

Applications are still being accepted for the Panama Field Study Semester. The deadline is now Friday April 25th, 2014.    Details at www.mcgill.ca/pfss.
Application deadline for the Africa program is Wednesday April 30th, 2014. Details at  www.mcgill.ca/africa.
Note that selected students would receive $3000 in mobility funds!
