SSMU Sustainability Case Competition is looking for Coordinators

Woo, only 11 days until Halloween! Time to make plans for the big weekend. Will it be a party? Will you go to SSMU's Four Floors? How much skin are you planning to show and how much alcohol will you need to forget that it is October in Montreal and you should not be baring those legs no matter how sexy your ladybug costume is?

But I digress. Next week is our annual Pumpkin chili pumpkin pie feast time! Come and get some free chili and pie and celebrate the pre-halloween October glow. Also our very famous APARTMENT CRAWL is coming up! More details below.

Pumpkin chili pumpkin pie feast time!

On Wednesday, Octover 30th, from 1-2 pm, there will be vegetarian chili in the MUGS lounge (BH 305)! We will also have fun activities such as pumpkin carving!

You will receive a free ticket to the apartment crawl and free drinks for the night. (We are aiming for the Ghetto/Plateau/Mile End area, sorry West-of-Campus folks!)

Documentary Screening in Burnside

The documentary "People of a Feather" will be screened this Wednesday, October 23rd in Burnside 308 at 5:30pm. The event poster is attached. It's a documentary about life in the Arctic, and the Inuit people struggling for survival. It won Best Feature in the Science department in the New Zealand film festival so you all should go see it!

Women in House McGill event

YES SHE CAN: Perspectives on female participation in political life, a panel discussion proudly presented by Women in House and McGill Political Science Students Association.

How does gender impact political participation? How can we build a culture that promotes more equitable representation of women in politics? Come discuss these important questions with our distinguished panelists, including:

Professors Antonia Maioni and Elisabeth Gidengil, and political leaders Martine Desjardins (student movement leader) and Janine Krieber (current member of the Projet Montreal Board of Directors).

We encourage you to attend regardless of your political orientation, gender, or topic of study.

This event will be hosted on Monday, October 28th at Thomson House (3650 Rue McTavish). The panel will take place at 6:00 pm and will be followed by light refreshments.

SSMU Sustainability Case Competition is looking for Coordinators

The SSMU Sustainability Case Competition (SSCC)  is back this year and we're recruiting coordinators to be involved from November to January! This year's competition topic is related to sustainable investments, and will include seeking valuable sponsorship relationships, selecting competition candidates, and organizing a final event at the end of the competition to present final ideas to judges & the public. Involvement will be more minimal until January.

We currently have three positions open for
applications:

-VP Finance

-VP Events

-VP Communications

The deadline for applications is October the 29th.
This is a great way to become more familiar with the topic of sustainable & ethical investments, and to be involved in a McGill student-run initiative that challenges students thinking. Email Ssmucasecomp2014@gmail.com, and attach a CV and one paragraph explaining your motivations & qualifications for a position on this year's coordinating team.
