Hello geographers!

i) Sweet deal! As most of you know, purchasing tickets for Montreal Canadiens games is impossible.
This is why the Geography Graduate Society (GGS) would like to offer you the chance to win 2
tickets! By participating in this contest, you will help GGS raise money for important academic
and social events.
The game is Tuesday March 22 opposite the Buffalo Sabres, at the Bell Centre, Seats Section 422
Raffle tickets cost $5 each, but the amount of tickets you can buy is unlimited! Please drop by
Burnside 319 between 1-3 PM (Mon-Fri) to buy your tickets! The winner will be announced on
February 17th at a local bar (TBA) while the Montreal Canadiens take on the Edmonton Oilers.

ii) AUS Charity Week's BIG FRIGGIN FOOD FEST is Thursday Feb 10th from 3-5pm in the AUS lounge! All
the best Arts departments will be baking tons of yummy food for you by donation, and the department
who raises the most money (to be donated to a local NGO) will win 100 BDA beer tickets! Come by
and help Geography win the glory (and fill your belly, and support a great cause)!!!

iii) HAVING TROUBLE KEEPING UP? OUR TUTORS CAN HELP! AUS offers a free tutoring service for students
who want extra help with their courses. A student seeking help is matched with an exceptional
student tutor in the subject. AUS peer tutoring is a great chance for students to not only get
help in their courses but also to get to know senior students and get their advices about McGill
academics! To be matched with a tutor, please send an e-mail to auspeertutoring@gmail.com or

iv) A reminder that our clothing drive/swap is once again under way for the new semester! Last semester
was a great success, and we are again welcoming new or used clothing to be donated or swapped in
the lounge throughout the semester. We want to encourage sustainable shopping with the swap part,
and also are donating the clothes at the end of the semester to Dans la Rue, a charity that helps
young people on the streets.

v) The deadline for FRSQ Undergraduate Student Research Award for health research 2011 is Feb 15th!
The minimum CGPA requirement is 3.7, and students submit their applications to ServicePoint in a
sealed envelope clearly labelled "ATTN: Erin Grainger, GPS Fellowships (FRSQ USRA)". For more info

vi) Don't forget our other great events coming up: Winter Challenge, weekly movie nights, Geoassassins,
