NEW Geography Grad Mentor Program

Are you curious (or confused!) about life after undergrad? Do you have questions about grad school and other post undergrad options?
The student-initiated McGill Geography Graduate-Undergraduate Mentoring Program aims to help undergrad students in Geography prepare and plan for the future. We do this by pairing them with a grad student mentor.  Grad students have recently navigated the post-undergrad world, and have a wealth of information to share about the experience. Undergrads and their grad student mentors will meet one-on-one, perhaps over a coffee, a few times during the semester. For more information and to apply to the program, please visit our webpage, http://mcgillgeography.blogspot.ca/p/mentor-program.html. Applications are due by Jan 27th to geogmentorprogram@gmail.com. Please note that the program is currently only open to students majoring in Geography.

Help Hire a Professor!
The Dept of Geography is in the process of hiring an assistant professor in Urban Sustainability jointly with the MSE. There are series of job talks scheduled for the next several Thursdays at 11:30 am, rm 426 Burnside. Cool Thing of the Week

Oh man, you missed these, didn't you? I've got something that leans a bit more towards the Urban Geography side of things, especially my personal favourite aspect; urban decay. Here is the photo project of 100 abandoned houses in Detroit, MI, and I must say that some of these photos are really cool.
